The table is finely grained spruce and the back, as well as ribs and neck, is maple. Like always the instrument has been completely checked by our luthier and our violin player on playability. In our workshop it received new ebony pegs, an elder ebony tailpiece, new ebony chinrest, a new bridge and new strings. These are new silver wound steel core strings with good projection while allowing quick finger action. We use these strings on mostly all of our violins, to allow a comparison of the tonality of each instrument in the videos. Nicely crafted instrument, with masterly carved scroll with typical Maggini extra twist and accurately double inlaid purfling. This beautiful violin shows no open cracks or open seams, and only some minor marks in it´s varnish. The table is finely grained spruce and the back is - as well as the neck and ribs - beautiful bird's eye maple. The violin was completely checked in our workshop by our luthiers and received a new bridge, new ebony pegs, new ebony chinrest, new ebony tailpiece and new strings.
